Become a Chapter Advisor

  • Selected by the school principal 
  • Monitors student outcomes and prepares weekly student outcomes report
  • Promotes programs to students 
  • Creates and administers annual operating plan and budget 
  • Appoints Program Advisors 
  • Ensures compliance with the chapter charter and constitution

Work Requirements

Program Revenue

You will enter into a Chapter Advisor Agreement under which you will be compensated for performing duties that produce desired student outcomes. 

Specific outcomes are tied directly to the program choices made by chapter members each year.

Program Revenue

The chapter must be self-sustaining. This means it must generate at least enough revenues to fund 100% of the operating budget you prepare and submit to Bell AgTech for approval.


Chapter Associates

Relatives, church members, civic group members, business owners, elected officials, farmers, and professionals are examples of chapter associates.

Revenue Sources

  • Student Fundraising Campaigns raise money from associates
  • Program Income is the income generated by students from program activities
  • Chapter sponsors are agribusinesses that donate to the chapter through Bell AgTech sponsorship campaigns
  • Grant funds are government grants and private grants
  • Agribusiness donations are contributions to Bell AgTech that are specifically allocated to the chapter.

Weekly Student Outcomes Report

Submit the weekly outcomes report, a list of chapter members, the types of reports and the # of reports each student submits at each weekly chapter meeting.

Program Advisors

Recruit 1 - 3 fellow teachers, or retired teachers, as program advisors, based on programs activated in your chapter.  Each program requires a minimum of 6 students enrolled.

Operating Plan and Budget 

Allocate all expected revenues to line item program expenses and $4,000 for each program advisor.

End of Year Expo Fundraising Event

Bell Agriscience and Technology Expo

Purposes

  1. To recognize and reward students for their program achievements 
  2. To recognize students for the projects they completed during the year. 
  3. To celebrate the scholarships and the college acceptance letters they have received. 
  4. To display projects and interview students who created these displays. 
  5. To recognize chapter associates. 
  6. To recognize sponsors. 
  7. To recognize volunteers and civic  groups for their work. 
  8. To view and score displays, 
  9. To display and sell farm products. 
  10. To raise money for the next school year. 
  11. To obtain pledges of support for the next school year.
  12. To network with college partners and USDA supporters. and advisors.
