In 2007, Ellis Bell, 4th generation farmer and survivor of many discriminatory practices through the years, had a vision of a larger role of Blacks and other minorities in agriculture sector of America's economy. He created a non-profit corporation, formed a board of directors, and named it Bell Community Services.

Ellis Bell is a 4th generation farmer with a passion for farming, and a vision of a larger role of minorities in agriculture. He lives in Forrest City, Arkansas.
Ellis has a competitive spirit. This spirit was born as a youth in 4-H and New Farmers of America raising hogs, cows and crops for competition. Ellis wanted to be the best.
He used his spirit of competition as the impetus to make his mark in the insurance business. From 1965 to 2014, Ellis owned and operated an indepedent insurance brokerage business, Bells and Associates, Inc,, which placed all lines of insurance representing major companies and managing billions of dollars in assets.
From 1972 - 2007, Bell Farm operated a food give-away program in St. Louis. which distributed food to thousands of needy people.
